Macbeth
W. Shakespeare
A beer, a thermos, a tomato and a platter of mashed potatoes are
some of the characters in this Shakespeare interpretation already
declared a cult performance.
Macbeth is played by a tomato and King Duncan by a can of tomato
paste purée. The dagger in the drama is made up of a sausage,
which at the murder becomes tainted by King Duncan’s blood.
All this is acted out on a table which creates a great feeling
of closeness with the audience. I promise you a raving mad performance
which will not come close to anything else you’ve seen. But
it’s still Macbeth and Shakespeare!!!
At one point during the performance I light a cigarrette, but just
for a short while. It is good for me to know whether somebody in
the audience would be allergic to this!
I have done two tours as a guest actor with Unge Riks in Norway.

The piece has been performed in Norway, Estonia, the former Soviet
Union, and in Bangladesh.
At your place? For example, at the trade union meeting, at the community
center, at the annual reunion, or as soup theater…
I can perform everywhere, give me a call!
I have performed it for a long time and I know people that have
seen it 7 times!!! (Dec 2005)
I will continue to perform this piece for a long, long time...
Maximum number of people in the audience: 90
Ages: 14 -adults
Duration of acting about 45 min.
"Is there anybody else who can perform Shakespeare’s
Macbeth using the objects and the content of a lunch box? What a
tempo, what a timing, what an escalation of events, what a choreography
and what a phenomenal performance."
Ljusnan
"Because this is a masterful performance, a presentation
of world class. Lasse Åkerlund has a magical talent for winning
the audience."
Fädrelandsvennen
"Macbeth as a tomato, the murder of Lasse Åkerlund
is figure theater at its best and shows someone who knows his trade,
says, Bentein Baardson."
Director at Den Nationale Scene, Bergen
”How pleasant to see such skills in a small performance
for a small stage. Small stages in the countryside are too seldom
haunted by this type of slapstick comedy that defies the audience.
Here was a Shakespeare play with all its drama turned into fun.
To do that, using a lot of intelligent and witty talent, is to show
respect for the audience. We had fun in Ämtamåla."
Margareta Andersson, Sydöstran, Nov. 23, 2005
